Description
BPC-157 is a 15-amino acid peptide fragment of the larger gastric protein BPC, which plays a protective role in gastrointestinal mucosal integrity. The synthetic form retains and concentrates the parent protein’s cytoprotective and regenerative signaling properties. Through its multi-system protective mechanisms, BPC-157:
- Promotes angiogenesis via upregulation of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and related pathways, accelerating blood supply to injured tissues
- Enhances tendon, ligament, muscle, and bone healing by stimulating growth factor expression and fibroblast migration
- Exerts gastroprotective effects, supporting mucosal integrity and counteracting damage from NSAIDs, alcohol, and other gastric insults
- Modulates the nitric oxide (NO) system, contributing to vascular protection, anti-inflammatory signaling, and tissue homeostasis
- Influences the dopaminergic and serotonergic systems, with observed neuroprotective effects in preclinical models
